On Your Fifth Birthday

After the cake was eaten, the presents unwrapped,  the friends said goodbye, the house cleaned, and the garbage taken out , you sat your exhausted self down to play a little Minion Rush on Mummy’s Nexus.

“You’re tired,” I said. “Did you have a good birthday?”

You kept playing your game.

“Hello?” I asked. “You there? Hello?”

Finally, you looked up.

“You make me happy every day.”

Daddy’s got something in his eye now.
