Fatherhood Update

  • Boy-Boy can roll over from front to back and back to front. This is a big milestone. Partly as a result, trying to keep him from sleeping on his stomach is impossible. According to various doctors, this is ok. It still makes us a little nervous.
  • When he wakes up in the morning, he calls to us. Not in a distressed, crying kind of way, but in a “I’m awake, come get me” kind of way.
  • He’s still on the bottle but it’s now in addition to solid foods. Strained peas are awesome, as are pears.
  • It was in Scotland that he went from a generally passive baby to one who’s fully engaged in his surroundings.
  • He has a big voice and laughs a lot. He rarely cries unless he has a reason to.
  • He’s not cuddly but likes to be picked up.
  • He’s sleeping through most of the night, most of the time.
  • In 3 weeks, he’ll be 6 months old.
  • He gives me a big smile in the morning when he wakes up. I live for this.
  • This is my desktop background at work:

  1. Very cool. We found between our two girls, one demanded more attention and was more fussy, while the other was quite easy going like your little guy. That’s not saying they don’t change over time, but in general it reflects their character.

    1. He’s fairly demanding when he’s awake but, so far, easily entertained. He’s just beginning to develop a little personality that’s, again, so far, good natured. Right now, his parents are the most awesome thing ever so we’re trying to hold onto that as long as we can.
