Haven’t you ever wondered why someone hasn’t mined the mid-winter Canadian house parties of our youths for a sit-com, using a Roshomon-style storytelling technique? Sure you have.
House Party debuted on the Comedy Network this week as a six part series about house party gone out of control, told from different points of view. Set in Winnipeg, the plot revolves around Adam’s attempts to get together romantically with long time friend Megan, who is misremembered by the local cool guy as “three-hole Megan.” So it’s not Corner Gas.
It’s also about what happens when you spike non-alcoholic wine with vodka or when you slip on an icy sidewalk and break half of your beer bottles. The show streams on the Comedy Network website and airs Wednesday nights. It’s worth a look.
