Why I am sober most of the time

When we first made the decision to move to Verdun (the snooty part called Nun’s Island) we took a few tours of the place to get the lay of the land. K noticed the nature, the public pools, and lengthy bike trails. I noticed I couldn’t locate a local pub, which struck me as odd. It’s just one of those things you look for in a neighbourhood, along with a school, community centre, cop shop, supermarket, café, church, or temple. It’s just one of those things that make a neighbourhood a real neighbourhood.

Turns out, Verdun doesn’t allow bars, or so I’m told. I’ve seen resto-bars where you can eat and order booze but full-on taverns or pubs? Can’t find ’em.

Anybody know why this is and what can we do to stop this madness at once?
