This weekend the chickie and I went to Halifax to drop in on a surprise party for my brother who is known to some in the Halifax-Dartmouth area as Nel E. Love, the Ladies’ Choice. Much fun was had by all and it provided all the more reason to plan that summer camping trip to Maritimes that K. and I would like to take.
Oh and if you’re in Dartmouth, try the fried clams at John’s Lunch. You’ll thank me. Adrienne Clarkson liked them well enough so that’s good enough for me.
Anyway, here are a few shots of the weekend.
Also met this guy:
a very funny and very nice guy who, in his spare time is helping to bring back the glory days of Atlantic Grand Prix Wrestling. Under the name Johnny Scotia Soul, performs in local bars with an outfit called Mainstream Wrestling (look up his name under the Roster section as there’s no direct link). We could be looking at the next Rock, kids. Or at least the next Honky Tonk Man.
It’s funny how when you wonder idly about something, events transpire to answer your question. I found myself thinking back to the old Atlantic Grand Prix days and wondered what happened to Leo Burke and that whole gang and if there was anything like that going on today. Nice to see someone carrying the torch.
