Kate linked to a story this week in the Mirror that makes a case for Quebec joining the Atlantic time zone. I’m not sure if this a good idea or not. After thirty years of mentally adjusting my own time zone to match everyone else’s, it was weird to suddenly start living in EST. For me, the biggest adjustment was not watching American television programs an hour later than they are shown here. ‘The Daily Show’ comes on at midnight in New Brunswick. The light in the morning and the quick way it gets dark at night here are also pretty weird. Would splitting off from Ontario’s time zone be too big an adjustment for Quebec?
