Called my sister-in-law who lives just outside of Dartmouth to make sure everyone was alright. She informed me everyone was fine (as were my aunt and uncle who also live in Dartmouth), save for the lack of power but Hurricane Juan gave a good pounding to Nova Scotia and PEI last night. They live more or less right on the ocean so I was concerned everyone involved. They got away with minimal property damage but their neighbours weren’t so lucky. They saw a shed’s door fly open and its contents pulled out in the air and blown away, Dorothy Gale-style. My brother, who was spending the day videotaping it for the station, saw aluminum shed crumpled into balls on people’s front lawns.
So far my calls to the Sunnyvale Trailer Park have gone unanswered.
