monkeys on strike

P’La (who, despite the name, is not Klingon) mentioned this story to me over the weekend so I looked it up. Turns out Capuchin monkeys, in various tests, will strike for better working conditions. If one is given a grape in exchange for a task, why should all the others accept a cucumber for peforming the same work? Obviously, managment feels the work is indeed, worth a grape. If this theory holds up, it could mean collective bargaining and the need to form unions is an innate drive in all primates. So much for neo-cons who feel unions are an abberation. I wonder if they’ve certified yet?
