Still on vacation…

but photos and stories and the like are forthcoming upon our return, including a rare shot of the king of french fries.

In the meantime, please welcome Bitter Maritimer, another ex-pat Saint Johnner who has made the move to the big city, this time in Toronto Etobicoke.

holiday break

I’ve got a half-day at work tomorrow and then my holidays begin. I’ll be in Saint John (K‘s coming along too) for the bulk of it. While my parents have a PC at home, it’s doubtful there’ll be many updates as I’ll be busy stuffing my face with lobster and Alpine beer.

I’ll return in a week or two, a new man, refreshed and ready for action as well as committed to either one of two New Year’s resolutions: stop eating so much or stop blogging so much. Haven’t decided which yet.

Hope everyone makes it through the holidays one way or the other. See you in the new year.

Chances of Finding that Planet of the Sexy Green Women: 7,398,276 to 1.

Scottish bookies are taking bets on the possibility that the Beagle 2 spacecraft will find life on Mars: “We first took money for life on Mars back in 1969 and would be looking at a black hole in our accounts if the Beagle mission discovers something.”

I hope so. I got money riding on Beagle 2 landing in the middle of an all-out Aliens vs. Predator war.

The Black List

“There’s always a big celebration at my parent’s house for the world’s most famous Jewish carpenter and I really want no part of it this year. Last year Jesus threw up all over my couch after his 2,002 shots of Rumplemintz.”

The Black Table‘s weekly Black List is posted with reader reviews on everything from Jesus’ birthday to getting into an accident after the first snow fall.

Now with Kung-Fu grip on a tumbler of gin

For those of you seeking a last minute gift idea for the Canadian nationalist on your list, there’s always the all-new John A. Macdonald action figure. He’ll be going on my office shelf right next to Bob and Doug Mackenzie. Oooh, when are they gonna do Trudeau and Levesque?
